EL Comité Internacional Paz, Justicia y Dignidad a los Pueblos hace suyo el llamado del ICAP a la realización de la Jornada „Tenemos Memoria, Solidaridad contra el bloqueo“ del 4 de septiembre al 6 de octubre, retomando la experiencia realizada durante los años de batalla por la libertad de los Cinco, de realizar una gran Jornada Internacional en fechas tan sentidas para nuestros pueblos.
En esta ocasión muy probablemente se extienda hasta el 27 de octubre, día en que Cuba presentará el informe ante la ONU: „Necesidad de poner fin al bloqueo económico, financiero y comercial de Estados Unidos de América contra Cuba“ (Informe sobre el Bloqueo)
Como parte de la Jornada, se dará comienzo a las acciones contra el bloqueo genocida contra Cuba los días 17 de cada mes, de acuerdo a lo acordado en la Cumbre de los Pueblos en Panamá en abril del 2015 y refrendado en el Encuentro Continental de Solidaridad con Cuba realizado en República Dominicana en el reciente mes de julio. Convocamos a los amigos solidarios del mundo a expresar su rechazo al bloqueo en todas las formas posibles: Declaraciones y Pronunciamientos dirigidos al Congreso de Estados Unidos, envío de cartas al Presidente Obama para que utilice las prerrogativas que le confiere la Constitución y haga uso de sus facultades contra el bloqueo. Él puede hacerlo.
Exhibición de Fotografías, Videos y Documentales que demuestren el inmenso daño que provoca el bloqueo de EE.UU al pueblo cubano.
Es necesario recalcar que a casi dos años del restablecimiento de relaciones EE.UU-Cuba, persiste la política estadounidense de bloqueo genocida, que provoca daños incuantificables y enorme sufrimiento al pueblo cubano y es la causa real que impide el desarrollo económico de Cuba.
Tener relaciones normales entre países implica el cese de la guerra que un país ejerce sobre otro. Mucho más cuando se trata del país más poderoso de la tierra contra una pequeña nación antillana. Lo que ha hecho EE.UU por más de medio siglo con la aplicación unilateral del bloqueo y sus leyes extraterritoriales: Torricelli, Helms-Burton; la Ley de Ajuste Cubano, Ley pies secos pies mojados, el Parole, y el financiamiento e impunidad al terrorismo contra Cuba, significan una guerra no declarada pero sí puesta de manifiesto día tras día.
Si bien se han dado avances que todos reconocemos, en lo esencial nada ha cambiado. El bloqueo sigue intacto así como sus leyes, se persigue y sanciona a quienes viajen o comercien con Cuba, no se puede utilizar el dólar en las transacciones bancarias internacionales, se presiona a organizaciones religiosas como Pastores por la Paz, líder en la lucha contra el bloqueo, con la amenaza de quitarle su estatus como organización sin fines de lucro.
Se desconoce el clamor de los países de América Latina y El Caribe para que se ponga fin a la Ley de Ajuste Cubano que ampara el tráfico de personas y la emigración ilegal.
Posada Carriles, terrorista internacional, sigue viviendo tranquilamente en Miami sin ser juzgado por sus innumerables crímenes. Cuatro décadas han pasado del horrendo atentado al avión de Cubana en Barbados donde murieron sus 73 ocupantes. Nuestros pueblos tienen Memoria, por más que el imperio quiera borrarla no lo conseguirán jamás.
Sobran razones para volver a las calles en solidaridad con la Revolución cubana, por el fin del bloqueo genocida, la devolución de Guantánamo y los planes subversivos de cambio de régimen, con Marchas Plantones y Demostraciones ante las embajadas de EE.UU.
El imperialismo jamás ha concedido nada que no se logre a través de la denuncia sistemática y la movilización de los pueblos. En esta etapa de contraofensiva imperial, donde logra a través de Golpes de Estado parlamentarios-judiciales-mediáticos retomar el control económico y la supeditación de gobiernos de la región a los planes del FMI, es más necesario que nunca demostrar la solidaridad con Cuba.

The International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity endorses the call made by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) to organize days of action under the title „We have Memory; Solidarity Against the Blockade“ from September 4 to October 6. These actions will bring back the experience accumulated during the years of struggle to free the Cuban Five. The events most likely will extend until October 27, the day when Cuba will once again present the report to the United Nation entitled, „Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba“ (view report)
The actions against the genocidal blockade against Cuba will start on September 17, as was agreed upon at the Summit of the People in Panama in April 2015 and reiterated at the Continental Meeting in Solidarity with Cuba in the Dominican Republic this past July, by organizing activities on the 17th of each month.
We call on solidarity friends from all over the world to express their rejection of the blockade in all possible ways including statements and pronouncements directed at the United States Congress and sending emails to President Obama urging him to exercise the powers conferred upon him by the Constitution to dismantle the blockade. He can do it. We encourage the movement to also organize public events that explain the impact that the U.S. blockade is having against the Cuban people.
It is necessary to emphasize that almost two years after the restoration of U.S.-Cuba relations the U.S. policy of genocidal blockade continues. A policy that causes enormous suffering and unquantifiable damage to the Cuban people and is the real cause preventing the economic development of Cuba.
Having normal relations between countries means the cessation of war that one country exerts on another. And this is even more obvious when it comes to the most powerful country on Earth against a small nation in the Antilles. Every day for more than a half century the U.S. has unilaterally applied the blockade through its extraterritorial laws like the Torricelli Bill, the Helms-Burton Act, the Cuban Adjustment Act, the wet foot, dry foot policy, the Cuban Medical Professional Parole Program, and many others designed to undermine the sovereignty of Cuba.
Although there have been advances that we all recognize, essentially nothing has changed. The blockade remains intact as well as its laws, to prosecute and to punish those who travel or trade with Cuba. The dollar cannot be used in international banking transactions with Cuba for example. A religious organization like Pastors for Peace is being threatened with losing its non-profit status for its humanitarian projects with Cuba. The demands of Latin American and Caribbean countries to end the Cuban Adjustment Act that encourages human trafficking and illegal migration across their borders have been ignored.
Meanwhile Posada Carriles, an admitted international terrorist, continues to live quietly in Miami without fear of going to trial for his crimes. It has been 4 decades since the horrendous attack, planned by Posada, that killed 73 people on a Cuban airliner over Barbados took place. Our people have memories and even if the Empire wants to delete it they will not succeed.
There is every reason for us to return to the streets in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution. It is the only way to end the genocidal blockade, achieve the return of Guantánamo and end the subversive plans for regime change. We need to organize protests at every U.S. embassy as we did in the struggle to free the Cuban 5.
Imperialism has never conceded anything that did not come about through a massive denunciation of its policies and the mobilization of the people. Now during this time of imperial counter offensive taking place in Latin America, through the so called soft coups against popular governments, it is more important than ever to stand up with Cuba and the example it represents.
